British mum Sue Radford has opened up about a “massive” change to her family after revealing she’s been pregnant for over 16 years.
It’s the end of an era for Britain’s biggest family.
Mum-of-22 Sue Radford took to her Instagram Stories on Sunday night to reveal that for the first time in 30 years, the family’s home does not have a cot in it.
Sharing a clip of the cot being dismantled, Sue wrote: “So this has just happened – the cot is gone,” The Sun reports.
“For the first time in over 30 years we don’t have a cot in the house.
“Such a massive milestone which feels weird but good.”
She then shared a picture of the room once the cot had been removed, adding that there’s “so much more room”.
Sue, 47, and husband Noel, 51, are parents of 22 – with their youngest child being two-year-old Heidie.
Getting rid of the cot also prompted Sue to have a sort out of the clothes her kids had grown out of.
Sharing a picture of a big pile of clothes, she wrote: “This pile of clothes needs sorting ready for taking to the clothes bank.
“I have another six bags full to go too.”
While the cot is now out of the family home, fans will be wondering if they’ll have to reintroduce it if they have another child.
But Sue has previously insisted that after welcoming 22 kids into the world, she’s done having babies.
“When I was pregnant with Heidie, I knew she was going to be the last,” she said.
“I didn’t want to be pregnant again and so I think that is probably why I have carried on breastfeeding her for quite a long time.
“I wanted to savor it.”
The Radfords, who featured on the UK reality show 22 Kids And Countinghave children Chris, 33, Sophie, 28, Chloe, 26, Jack 24, Daniel, 22, Luke 21, Millie, 20, Katie, 19, James 18, Ellie, 16, Aimee, 15, Josh, 14, Max, 13, Tillie, 11, Oscar, 10, Casper, 9, Hallie, 6, Phoebe, 5, Archie, 4, Bonnie, 3 and Heidie, 2. Their 17th child, Alfie, was stillborn.
They are also grandparents to 12 children.
Before welcoming their youngest Heidie in April 2020, Sue and Noel, from Morecambe, Lancashire, calculated they had already spent over $1.7 million raising their bumper brood.
Reflecting on this eye-watering figure in an episode of 22 Kids And Counting, Noel said: “I try not to think too much about what it costs. What could I have had instead?
“A nice flash car. At Porsche on the driveway.”
Meanwhile, Sue joked: “We could have been living in a mansion!”
Instead, the couple – who support themselves by running a bakery – have squeezed their large brood into a 10-bed former care home.
